ESCHEN:
A Leader in Prosthetic Feet
How does the foot work?
Like prosthetic knees, prosthetic feet are primarily distinguished by their activity level, ranging from low activity to high activity. Low activity feet are designed to maximize stability and ease-of-use, while high activity feet are designed to maximize responsiveness and for traversing a variety of terrains and environmental barriers. Microprocessor-controlled feet offer advanced features like “terrain adaptation” and “chair exit.” During your prosthetic evaluation, our prosthetist will review different foot options and work with you to determine what you need.
Prosthetic Feet
Low activity feet are perfect for patients who require extra stability and support. These feet are extremely safe and lightweight - ideal for rehabilitation, transferring, and limited ambulation. Low activity feet are easy to use. Many low activity feet feature. Low activity feet are excellent for individuals walking short distances at slow speeds and individuals with limited foot control.
Low Activity
Medium Activity
Medium activity feet are perfect for patients spending a moderate amount of time on their feet. These feet are well-suited for individuals with good balance and those who are comfortable walking at different speeds. Medium activity feet offer great stability and functionality - ideal for patients who are out and about performing a wide variety of tasks on their feet.
High activity feet can do it all. Walking, running, jumping, dancing - it can all be done with a high activity foot. These feet are perfect for individuals who spend a lot of time on their feet performing a variety of tasks at different speeds. High activity feet work well for ascending and descending stairs and walking or running on slopes and uneven terrain. High activity feet help wearers conserve energy while offering great responsiveness and versatility.
High Activity
Sports feet are typically designed for specific activities like skiing, running, and swimming. Most sports feet are highly specialized and not ideal for everyday use. They are constructed to withstand the heavy wear-and-tear associated with high-impact sports as well exposure to the elements like sweat, snow, and rain. The various features of sports feet are determined by what sport they are designed for. Running feet, for example, offer considerable shock absorption and energy return, like bouncing off of a pogo stick. Skiing and water sport feet on the other hand are designed to accommodate dynamic movements like deep bends and cutting.
Sports
Microprocessor feet (MPFs) are the gold standard for prosthetic feet. These feet offer high-technology features like “automatic terrain adaptation,” “stable stance,” and “relief when sitting.” MPFs are ideal for everyday use. These feet are great for walking at different speeds on varied terrain. MPFs are bluetooth compatible and fully customized to the wearer. Eschen is proud to be the leading provider of microprocessor feet in the Northeast.
